How Tidal Energy is Used and How it  Works

Picture
Tidal energy works just like a wind turbine, but under water. They are arranged in rows on the ocean floor. As the tides go in and out the turbine spins and produces electricity that can be used in the common household or buisness. The constant movement of the ocean is an inexhaustible source of mechanical energy that can be converted into electric energy. High and low tides occur two times a day, but it only changes a few meters in most places. Each day electric power is generated for about ten hours everyday when the tide rises and falls.
