How Much Does it Cost??

Even though it may be very expensive to just put in an underwater turbine, it is worth it. It costs between $1-3 million to build the power plant. The power plant is worth it because it then would not cost any money to power homes after the turbines and the power plant is installed. By purchasing one of these systems we can save a lot of money on electricity. This will also help the world get out of debt and lower global warming that is caused by the burning of fossil fuels. So after you pay for the turbine that is it.

Although just to put one small turbine in is about $20,000 it can eventually pay off. Not just in a money sense but in an enviornmental way too. It costs about 4 to 6 cents per kilowatt per hour. That pretty much means that you are paying 4 to 6 cents for the unit cost for each kilowatt used for a full hour.Energy in watt hours is the multipulcation of power in watts and time in hours. Kilowatts is really only mentioned when you get billed for heating or in this case electicity. A kilowatt is about 1,000 watts of energy, so you  multiply the kilowatt(1,000) by the hours and if it doubles you pay double, triple ,triple and so on. (i know it sounds very confusing!!!! even to me!)
